CCL – Proof of purchase at the auction
The Comprovativo de Compra em Lota (Proof of Purchase at a Fish Market) is designed to guarantee the identification and differentiation of fish sold at mainland fish markets to the final consumer and is only applicable to fish sold at mainland fish markets.
The CCL label provides the consumer with all the information required by law, namely: the commercial name, scientific name, catch area and sub-area, production method, fishing gear, indication of fresh product. It also indicates the auction where the fish was unloaded and sold at auction, allowing consumers to make a more conscious purchase.

CCL is currently present in around 1,200 points of sale in mainland Portugal, including department stores, fishmongers, municipal markets, street vendors and restaurants.
Visit the A Lota em Casa website and find out where to buy fish from the auction nearest you.
